Edinburgh Weekend

We got tickets for High School Musical at the Edinburgh Playhouse many months ago and this Saturday was the show, so we decided to stay over and make a weekend of it.

After an arduous trek through old Edinburgh we finally found Greyfriars Bobby. B has to complete a school project on a famous Scot, and she has picked this famous wee dog. We got some photos and a crayon rubbing of the plaque for her homework project before heading for the matinee show.

We weren't allowed to take photos of the show so no pics of the hunky Troy Bolton, and annoying Sharpay!

We used the park and ride train service to get into Edinburgh, easily pleased is J, very excited about his train ride back to the car.

On Saturday night we went bowling at the Newcraighall retail estate. J's first time without the aid of the frame roller thing and got a strike first throw down the lane, the highlight of his weekend. B's highlight was grabbing 3 toys in a oner with the prize claw game, a unique achievement never to be repeated.

Whilst dining in Frankie and Benny's that night the lassie serving told us that this was their last night before it was all being demolished to make room for more shops. Glad she told us as we usually stop at that travel Lodge in particular when we stay in Edinburgh because we know there is always some family thing to do in the evening. We will know for next time we are planning a stay.
