Extension - Week 2
The builders were only here 2 days this week, so the progress is not as far as was expected. One of the partners of the firm doing the scaffolding and roof tiles suddenly died, and being a small family run business there was no-one working for most of the week.
Day 5 - Concrete foundations to DPC level
Day 6 - Kit erected
I have been busy destructing inside and running TV cables etc. The knock-out panel between the living room and dining room is gone and all downstairs carpets and skirtings up. Just a shell of a house at the moment, but the kids are loving running around in the space. The cats are looking a bit sorry for themselves though.
The scaffolders arrive on Monday so it should be a productive week ahead and a different picture completely for the next blog entry.

Extension - Week 1
The builders arrived on Wednesday to make a start to our extension.
Day 1 - A big hole
Day 2 - Complete digging and lay concrete foundation.
Day 3 - Sub floor bricked up to DPC level for the kit to go onto.
Day 4 - Window sill and wall cut-out, and starting to backfill foundations.
Some of my handywork in preparation for when they break through into the house in a few weeks. This is a view from the kitchen into the dining room. The wall is coming down for open kitchen/dining and you can see where I have cut away the plasterboard for the french doors into the living room.
